Sail for Charity

A very proud day for the Sail for Charity Team, as Laura Crosland presented a cheque for £12,106.70 to Dame Ellen MacArthur, representing the total funds raised for the Ellen MacArthur Trust from our efforts in 2007. Laura is the daughter of Sail for Charity organisers Andy & Karen Crosland, and although she's a little young for "full on" Cowes Week racing, she regularly sails with us and has been affectionately adopted by the team with her nickname "Squirt".

A huge thank-you goes to all of the team members who took part in Cowes 2007 and for their efforts towards raising this total sum. Thanks also go, of course to our sponsors Healthsure, without whom this would not have happened. And if you would like to sponsor this year's team, please do so via our Just Giving site.

The Ellen MacArthur Trust told us "This is a significant sum of money for us and we are very grateful to all who have contributed to your fund-raising efforts. This will pay for many experience of a lifetime places for children who are recovering from cancer or leukaemia. Thank-you!"
